Albrecht Dürer Airport Nuremberg
The airport in the Franconian metropolis posed a particular challenge for us. This was because we had to meet the very different requirements of road users: Delivery traffic, rental traffic, short and long-term parkers, buses and "Kiss & Fly" drivers had to be reconciled. During the reorganization, parking operations at the airport continued seamlessly.
The first task here was to analyze the status quo and determine requirements. The previously installed automatic pay stations were taken over and integrated into the new PRM system. In the meantime, modern automatic pay stations from PRM have replaced the previously used technology.
Together with the airport operator, we have decided to continue to organize the entire managed parking area via the pay stations. Users of the parking lot determine in advance how long they want to use the parking lot. Analog labeling ensures that there are no misunderstandings or ambiguities at this point. With this system, we have taken the classic parking lot organization and taken it a step further. In this way, we do justice to all user groups. Regular checks ensure that the respective allocations are adhered to by road users.
In addition to the normal parking spaces at Albrecht Dürer Airport, electric mobility has also been considered. A total of 22 AC charging stations with a maximum output of 11 kW can be found in 4 spaces (two charging points each for short-term and long-term parkers). In principle, the available alternating current is suitable for charging all electric vehicles. In this way, we are making an active contribution to climate protection and the promotion of e-mobility.
The success of the new concept quickly became apparent. Parking lot users are pleased with the clear signage and division into user groups as well as the various payment options (e.g. Paybyphone). Regular monitoring led directly to an increase in parking revenue. Openness and transparency are also our credo when dealing with the airport operator. We send them monthly reports such as the current occupancy study and a data analysis.
